10th Annual ToyRide – Win A Yamaha R1 & Help Out Some Kids For The Holidays

Each year, an incredible group of sportbike riders assemble at Angel Stadium for their annual ToyRide. What started as an OC-based sportbike club setting out to help a local orphanage during the holidays, this event has continued to grow and is now celebrating it's 10th anniversary, helping out hundreds of kids each year. The event now consists of a group ride, escorted by the CHP, from Angel Stadium to the Queen Mary in Long Beach, where riders will be treated to a free lunch, stunt show, music contests and a crazy raffle with thousands of dollars worth of stuff, including a 2010 Yamaha R1! This year's event takes place on Sunday, November 21st, with registration beginning at 8:30am. Get all the info on the ToyRide here.

Lyrics Born, Chali 2na, Rakaa-Iriscience Take Over Late Night At The Roxy

Last night, Berkeley-native Lyrics Born slayed the Roxy. Former Jurassic 5 member Chali 2na hosted the late-night event (doors were at 10:30pm) and performed himself right before Lyrics Born went on. Rakaa-Iriscience of Dilated Peoples opened the night with a DJ set, which is kind of strange because he's not the DJ in Dilated, Babu handles the beats for them. Nevertheless, it was an awesome show and had the Roxy pretty packed with hip hop heads. Interview: B-Real Of Cypress Hill Talks Smokeout Festival

I decided to get on phone with one of the masterminds behind the whole Smokeout Festival, Cypress Hill's B-Real, to get the scoop on next week's show. We talked everything from how they got Incubus on board, who Manu Chao is and the hype around him, bringing the dance tent back into the mix, dabbled into the history of Smokeout & it's possible expansion, discussed the addition of the consumption (weed-smoking) area, as well as a whole lot more. When I asked B-Real to give me one sentence on why people should come to Smokeout, he had this to say: "If they want to get their mind blown musically, visually and in every other realm, come to the Smokeout and experience it for's like no other festival." Couldn't have put it better myself. Read the full interview

6th Annual Vans Downtown Showdown Invades Paramount Studios Lot

The Vans Downtown Showdown took place this past weekend at the Paramount Studios back lot, turning the streets of Hollywood into scenes similar to those of an episode of Law & Order. $85,000 was up for grabs at this 6th annual event, and Chocolate's Vincent Alvarez took home the Top Pro Performance while the Pretzel Grip team took home the overall title and left $30k richer. Teams submitted their obstacle designs to Vans, who then chose the top 4 and set them up in the streets of the New York set at Paramount. Obstacles included Black Label's "Off The Wagon," Pretzel Grip's "Time Trial Classic," Zero's "Blood Bath," and Foundation's "F'd Up Stair Set." You can get the results of the contest here. Black Milk Album Release Show To Feature Several Upcoming West Coast Artists

Hey guys, my name's Cody and I'm the newest addition to the Western Division team. I'm going to help keep the site updated with everything cool going down on the West Coast, everything from events to music to whatever. What I want to introduce to you first is an event happening this weekend. Detroit rapper Black Milk is celebrating the release of his new album, Album Of The Year, this Sunday (October 3rd) at the Roxy in Hollywood. I know Detroit isn't the West Coast, but the supporting acts for the show are some talented individuals who are reppin' the WC hard these days. The show features several upcoming West Coast indie hip-hop artists like U-N-I, El Prez and TiRon, who all reside in LA and have been getting massive hype in the blog world, as well as Fresno's Fashawn, who's been in the spotlight since the release of his debut album Boy Meets World. Two months prior to releasing BMW, he put out a mixtape called The Antidote that he made with legendary producer The Alchemist that was hailed as 2009's "Mixtape of the Year." Bishop Lamont, who was once Dr. Dre's prodigy, is also supposed to be there too. To help familiarize yourself with some of the artists before you go to the show, here are a few downloads from some of the artists:

West Coast Bike Fest Hit Laughlin, NV

It's hard enough to stunt when conditions are perfect, but imagine competing in the 110°  Laughlin, NV heat. That's what happened this past weekend. The riders gave it there all then headed indoors for some ice cold drink with 800 of their closest street bike riding friends. [Gallery not found] Photos: John Zamora, Super Street Bike Magazine

Edgar's Brother Pays Tribute With Tattoo

A few weeks ago we told you about one of our fallen brothers, Edgar Toledo. Edgar was killed doing what he loved, riding his streetbike. There was a vigil and charity ride both in his name. Now, week's later, Ruben has undergone a permanent memorial to his younger brother. He's inked the W in the same spot, in the same size as his sibling. We're proud to be a part of their lives. See Rubin before he get's inked.
